I paid 100 soles for the expensive room after asking reception whether things were quiet after 7 pm. I was told they were, but I couldn't sleep all night: motorbikes and sirens kept going, and the bed made me feel extremely itchy. At 1 am, police were shouting and knocking on the entrance door for a while, and nobody from the hotel came to open it. Up to you :)

It's a handy place for a night or two before heading to a jungle retreat, with shops and fruit and vegetable markets nearby and the main plaza only four blocks away. The private rooms are good and security is good too. Every room has a fan, but air conditioning costs extra and the AC rooms are limited. Rooms have basics like a desk and bedside tables. There isn't hot water in the shower, which didn't bother me in such a hot city. Wi-Fi reaches the rooms, though it's slow, as is common in Peru.

I got to learn a lot about the local culture by staying here. The accommodations were good for the area, and the people were really friendly and helpful.
