Victoria Regia Hotel

We ate lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant once each, and I’d recommend it. The buffet breakfast was very good too, with eggs, bread, cheese, fruit, and drinks like coffee, tea, and milk, plus more. We stayed two nights, one before and one after our time in the Amazon jungle. The rooms were clean, the shower had hot water, and the air conditioning worked so well that coming in from the hot, humid air outside felt like a relief. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location worked well for us, close to supermarkets and pharmacies.

The street noise was the main drawback. I could hardly sleep without earplugs, though it seems to be a problem at hotels throughout the city. Bring your own, since you won’t find them in Peru. Otherwise, the rooms were comfortable, the staff helpful, and the breakfast amazing. I had a very nice stay.

The road outside gets loud, and sometimes other guests do too, so it wasn’t always easy to relax. Still, I had a great stay at Hotel Victoria Regia. My room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the staff were accommodating whenever I needed help. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, a lovely way to start the day. I’d recommend it for a comfortable, convenient stay in Iquitos.

I left feeling very disappointed and uncomfortable. As an Asian person, I felt racially labeled when they entered my nationality as Chinese without asking me or properly checking my passport, even though they were holding it.
