Decameron El Pueblo

We arrived at 10:30 in the morning with my 80-year-old grandparents and had reserved three rooms. By 5 p.m. we still had no rooms. After we complained, they were finally ready at 5:30. Nobody seemed to care. We were told the reservation allowed them until 5:30, but couldn't they have prepared at least one room? If the rooms aren't ready, don't sell them. I wouldn't come back even if it were free.

We’ve stayed here several times and always enjoy the pools, food, and shows. It’s a rustic, comfortable place if you want to get away from downtown Lima.

The facility itself is very nice and has quality features, but the rooms were badly maintained and completely outdated. The windows were dirty, and the tub looked so grimy that I didn't even want to shower in it. I ended up leaving a day early because I couldn't take it anymore.

The staff were amazing, attentive, and respectful, the food was above average, and the whole place feels like a refuge from hectic Lima. What bothered me most was the bathroom water, which isn't potable. There was no warning on the website or from the staff. I only noticed a tiny sticker on the bathroom mirror. If you're traveling with children, elderly parents, or easily distracted relatives, be very careful, or you could end up spending the rest of your stay at the nearest clinic. I hope the food is prepared with potable water. El Pueblo has beautiful infrastructure that makes you feel like you've gone back in time, but that detail is a big no for me.
