Hotel Carrera SAC

The rooms feel dated, but they’re still comfortable. Service was excellent, prompt, and attentive, with staff opening doors and looking after us. We were placed here after a flight delay, and they seemed to understand what we needed. Filtered water was available at breakfast, though there wasn’t a dispenser, and none was offered at dinner. Breakfast was fine but had limited variety. The hotel is in a mostly residential area that isn’t especially exciting, though there’s a large supermarket about five minutes away.

We stayed here after our flight was cancelled and the airline booked it for us. The room was clean and quiet, and the staff were polite, professional, and gave great service. Good location too, with plenty of food and other shops nearby.

At least there’s some good food close by. The rooms are dated, and traffic outside is very loud. We’re expecting a taxi to the airport at 4:30 a.m., and the ride may take 30 minutes to over an hour.

We were only there for one night, thankfully. The rooms are below standard, more like a one- or two-star hotel. There are no bedside lamps, the bathrooms are shabby, and you can hear people in the next room using their bathroom. The curtains don’t close all the way because of the air conditioner at the window, so light comes through at night. The area is very busy and feels somewhat dodgy. We had to leave at 5:30 a.m. for an early flight and were assured there’d be a buffet breakfast just for us since the regular service starts at 6. All we got was toasted bread with jam until I asked for cheese. It would have been awful to stay longer. If you’re driving into central Lima, I’d go closer to the beach instead. Book your own hotel and don’t let Flight Centre travel agency put you in a place like this.
