The owners were really friendly, and the place felt fresh for the current season. Good service for the quality and price.

The drive was a big part of why we left Huancaya disappointed. The road narrows to one lane, with pavement giving way to dirt, and the steep drop-offs made passing oncoming cars stressful. Some drivers seemed to treat it like a rally. There wasn’t much to do for us beyond looking at lagoons, unless you’re after a spiritual retreat, a quiet place to write, or an adrenaline rush. We’d arrived excited but cut our stay short and came back a day early. Bitel, my mobile provider, has no coverage there, so I couldn’t post a review of the visit at the time. Tomorrow we’ll stop in Lunahuaná, and I hope my son enjoys it before I return to Lima. I won’t go back to Huancaya. Research the trip first, and consider the altitude if you’re traveling with children, since the journey can quickly become uncomfortable.
Close to the plaza and easy on the budget, this hotel was clean and tidy. The owners were friendly and attentive, too. 💕
The owners are very attentive, and the hotel felt safe, clean, and comfortable. There’s a garage, which made it easier to sleep peacefully. I’d recommend it.
A quiet place that works well for children, with a garage and rooms for big groups. The drawback is that those rooms have just one bathroom.
