The spectacular views were the one bright spot at Rupa Rupa B&B. The place was quiet, and the steep climb up more than a hundred steps made getting around exhausting every time. I dreaded going out because I knew I’d have to climb back up. With luggage or mobility issues, those stairs would be a serious problem. My room was dirty, with dust in the corners, questionable stains on the bedding, and a bathroom that hadn’t been cleaned properly. The sound carried through the building too. I heard every conversation, footstep, and movement in nearby rooms and the hallway, and got barely any rest from the noise all night. The view earns the two stars, but it couldn’t make up for the stairs, poor cleanliness, and sleepless nights. I can’t recommend staying here unless those problems are fixed.

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, and the views from this quiet hotel are lovely. It’s over 100 steps up, but that can be worth it for the scenery. Once you’ve made the climb, it’s close to everything. The website promises more in terms of service and accommodations than we experienced. They say a porter will meet guests at the train station, but nobody did. When we asked at the desk, the man said they don’t offer that. We were also charged for extra towels, even though our room could sleep four and there were only two of us, so we thought the four towels would be included. There were no screens on the doors or windows, and the mosquitoes were a problem. Breakfast was very light with few options, so we went somewhere nearby instead.

We slept comfortably in beds with a fantastic view of the three big mountains. The rooftop breakfast area has beautiful scenery too, and the bus stop for Machu Pichu is very close. Breakfast was simple but enough, with vegan options. Enjoy.

I spent one night here. The mountain view was amazing, and the B&B had a cool feel. The room was reasonably clean and breakfast was nice. The walk up the hill could be tough for some people, though that’s common in this area.

We had a free upgrade to a room with wide, 90-degree windows. From there we spotted a gallito de las rocas and a mot mot! The place was quiet despite being near the main square. They also had a picnic breakfast ready for our very early checkout.
