I slept well in a clean, decent room, and it’s good value with the beach just moments away. The pool didn’t look clean to me and seemed to be mostly for the family running the place. That left me feeling a bit like I was intruding in their space instead of being a paying guest.

The views are amazing, and the ocean air is something else. Rooms sit right on the beach without getting too hot, and there are mosquito nets over the beds, which is useful here. Everything, including the bathrooms, was sparkling clean, and the hotel has its own pool. It’s a great option for solo travelers, with private rooms, a good breakfast, and a welcoming atmosphere. One staff member speaks both English and Spanish and gave me practical advice about the area. The room isn’t luxurious, but for this price range the deal is hard to beat. And they have a cute pet goat! :D

I booked one week and ended up staying four months. The food was so good that I ate there most nights, and the staff were lovely, friendly, and always ready to help. It’s right by the surf spot and in the center of town, which is an excellent location. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The food was really fresh and tasty, and the portions were large. Prices start at s/25 soles ($6 or $7 USD), so they’re very affordable. The owners are very cool Colombian girls who take time to check that you’re enjoying your meal. The place is spacious, with an ocean-view terrace upstairs, right at the beginning of the boulevard. We only tried the restaurant, which stays open until 10 or 11 pm every night, but were told there are rooms and a pool inside too.
