Suites del Mar

We spent four days here after our wedding, and it was a relaxing place to unwind. The staff helped us sort out airport transport, local rides, tours, and other recommendations. Breakfast looked fresh, and they were always willing to answer questions about the hotel or Máncora. We had a private pool with our room, plus there’s a large pool on the first floor. Easy beach access was another plus.

It’s hard to leave the restaurant to try food elsewhere in Mancora. The cooking is that good, and the value is extremely good too. Breakfast has several choices and is very good. The staff couldn’t be nicer, and I felt comfortable and safe there. The hotel is right by the sea with direct beach access. Its facilities are simple but nicely laid out, with open spaces, flowers, and a well-designed pool. There’s a bar and restaurant. The rooms are good, with modern bathrooms, good air conditioning, and TVs, though we didn’t use ours. We also liked the small terrace with plants, a sofa, and a little table. The restaurant was possibly the best we’ve ever tried, apart from a couple of Michelin 3-stars.

The staff and restaurant were the highlights for me. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was quite good, and we had three more meals there that were all really good. Their free breakfast was as good as any we’ve had, with four full breakfast options and lovely presentation. It’s a terrific boutique hotel about a five minute tuk-tuk ride from downtown Mancora, so it’s a quiet escape from the party noise. There’s a decent small beach beside it, and a much larger, excellent quiet beach about a 10 minute walk north. The rooms are nice, though not great. The beds are about average for comfort, and the hot shower was nice. Air conditioning is essential and works well. Most rooms have balconies, and the second and third floors have ocean views. Oceanfront buildings take a beating from the weather, but they do a good job maintaining the place. Highly recommend!
