Surf House Chicama

Victor helped with everything I needed for surfing, from renting a board and taking a couple of lessons to arranging a boat. I got a lot out of the lessons: we worked on my pop-up, paddling, and turtle rolls, and he helped me feel calmer and get into the right spot for waves. I’m much more confident now. Most of all, he reminded me surfing is about having fun and enjoying yourself out there. I’m so grateful to Victor and Chicama Surf Camp. Until next time, thank you!

The surfboard and wetsuit I rented from Victor were high quality, including two nearly new longboards. He’s great to talk with about surfing, travel, and life, and it was a pleasure meeting him. He’s also quick to reply on WhatsApp and always willing to help.

Victor and his family make you feel welcome in their home, and the atmosphere is comfortable, just right for resting between surf sessions. My Spanish is bad, so it helped that Victor speaks very good English. In seven days of lessons, he taught me more about surfing than I’d learned in all my time before. The Spanish lessons were great too, and well worth doing. I left feeling pretty comfortable chatting in Spanish around town. I had an amazing time at Surf Camp Peru and will definitely be back. I think you should stay here.

Victor was attentive and flexible, arranging airport transport and surf activities and working around schedule changes when he could. He’s well connected and acts as a concierge if you need anything. The hotel is easy to reach and just one block from the beach and surf. I recommend Chicama Surf Camp for a room, lessons, or surf equipment services.
