Sonesta Hotel El Olivar Lima

The room service was impeccable, and the big showers had wonderfully hot water. Everyone made an effort to make our stay memorable. Francisco at the front desk quickly arranged a masseuse for our room and had breakfast boxes ready when we needed to head out. Hans and Ronald behind the bar were great, and made sure my michelada mix was ready each day. I was blown away by the hospitality and would highly recommend the hotel.

We had a fantastic lunch at the restaurant, and the reception had water, tea, and cookies available. The hotel faces a lovely park filled with centenary olive trees. It’s in an upscale residential neighborhood with some shops and restaurants, and just a short walk from great local places to eat. The rooms and common areas were spotless, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and quick to help.

After a midnight flight from the Amazon, we turned up sweaty in thongs and shorts and felt a bit out of place among the tuxedoed staff. They were so welcoming, though, and the hotel was absolutely beautiful. Our room was huge, with a lovely bed and bathroom and a balcony or courtyard-style space. The bed was the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in, and the shower worked well too. Breakfast was brilliant, and there were lovely restaurants nearby in a nice area. It was a perfect place to end our time in peru. I only wish we’d booked a longer stay.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were big, and the blackout curtains worked well. Breakfast was great, with attentive servers, and the gym was good too. I liked the quieter, less touristy location, with a beautiful park outside and plenty of restaurants and boutiques. The rooftop pool was great, though service at its restaurant was a little slow. There was construction noise by the pool, and a sign with the work hours would have helped me plan the day. I’ll stay again.
