The staff went out of their way to help, including arranging taxis when Uber was giving us trouble. Getting an Uber to or from the hotel can be difficult: drivers accepted the fare and then asked for four times the agreed price. A taxi was around 50 PEN compared with 13 on Uber, though we luckily negotiated a ride for 25. The hotel itself has huge rooms, lovely green decor, and amazing bathrooms with jacuzzi. Ours looked out at the mountains and llamas next door. Breakfast was excellent quality and made to order, and the indoor pool was warm and great for swimming while it rained. The rooms also have brand new TVs with Netflix.

The rooms are large, but after the service we experienced it's hard to count that as much of a plus. Staff took money from us while smiling to our faces, then kept blaming a “Booking.com system error.” As hotel owners ourselves, we felt they knew what they were doing and continued to lie. The manager stayed behind the staff and wouldn't come to the phone, which says a lot about how problems are handled. The restaurant food was bad, and the place was completely empty. Breakfast was very poor, and they were already clearing it away ten minutes before the stated closing time without warning. The garden with alpacas shown in the photos doesn't exist at all. There were no alpacas, nothing, and the hotel overall felt outdated and poorly maintained. There wasn't much around the location to see, eat, or visit. We strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

After five days of trekking, we arrived with high expectations. Because of overbooking, the hotel downgraded our reservation and didn't refund the price difference. It was very noisy, and guests have to pay each time to use the spa. Better off in Ollyantambo.

We used the hotel before and after Machu Picchu, and they let us leave our rental car and big luggage while we took a taxi and train to Aguas Caliente for two nights. My husband reacts to perfumes and cleaning chemicals, so Lucia and another kind staff member, both English-speaking, opened several rooms for us to check before we chose one. We also wanted outdoor space. There's an outdoor yoga platform, and the rooftop restaurant has windows that open for a breeze, though you can smell car exhaust and cow manure. Our room faced the street and was noisy, so we wore ear plugs. The rooms were very clean. Bugs came in when we left the windows open, but they weren't mosquitoes and I didn't mind. I actually like seeing bugs because it suggests the area hasn't been sprayed with pesticides or the room with Lysol. Internet was okay and enough for digital nomads. There is a sauna, hot tub in rooms, a nice yoga space, and a ping pong room. The rooftop restaurant serves buffet lunch from 12-3pm, not dinner. Lunch is $75 PEN, and the flute music was loud. Outside lunch hours, the rooftop is a nice place to work on a computer with WiFi. There's no AC, but you can ask for a space heater. We were there in April and didn't need either one, the temperature was perfect for us.

I was with a tour group and didn't have time to explore the amenities. The Sacred Valley hotel in Precious Peru has a bright, airy circular atrium full of green plants, and the scenery is special. Rooms are large but a bit dated. Breakfast had the usual selection of hot and cold dishes, and there were teabags by the front desk for making a warm cup against the cold.
