Pension Fare Ara Huahine

Tinau and his team made our first stop in French Polynesia memorable. The airport pickup included a little tour, and Tinau brought fresh baguette every morning. The scooters for rent made getting around easy. He was very fair and honest, and helped us book Sunday lunch at Chez Tania, a local traditional buffet. We definitely recommend it. We had an easy walk of about 15 minutes to the harbour, where we went scuba diving with Pacific Blue Adventure. The accommodation is simple but has what you need: a comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchen, good wifi, and facilities as described. A couple of things could be better. Mosquito nets on the doors and windows would help, especially since we had to open them while cooking on the gas stove. Also, the AC sits right in front of the bed and blew air into our faces. We fixed that by hanging a sheet above it to direct the air toward the floor. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back!

I appreciated the little basics in the kitchen, including butter, oil, coffee, tea, salt, and pepper. The daily fresh baguette and homemade jams were great too. My room was immaculately clean, and someone was always tidying the common spaces. The staff are friendly, hardworking, and take real pride in their pension. Communication by email was great before I arrived. They arranged airport pickup and drop-off, and shared information about Fare during the ride over. Cars and bikes can be rented right on site. Town is a 15-20 minute walk away.

We only stayed four nights and really wished it could have been longer. Tinau and everyone at Pension Fare Ara were so nice. The rooms are cute, and the pension is well placed, about a ten-minute walk into town. Breakfast was excellent too, with bread and homemade jams brought to our room each morning.

Tinau was great, and our place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and basics like oil and spices, and the AC worked really well. It's only a few minutes' walk to Fare and to a great beach for relaxing or snorkeling. Internet on Huahine isn't great right now. It sounds like they're installing a fiber cable, but the best speed I could get elsewhere was around 10 Mbps. The connection here was as good as anywhere else on the island.
