Pension BOUNTY

Alain gave us great advice about diving and other excursions, and made breakfast every morning. You can also have dinner there, which was very good, or cook for yourself in the kitchen. There's a small market nearby. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful, and diving centers are within walking distance. I'd recommend 6 Passengers. The lodging is lovely for a relaxing stay, with the ocean close on one side and the lagoon on the other. It's a small, quiet island, and you can choose where to spend the evening watching fish swim by, including sharks. The rooms were clean and had screens on every window and door. I really enjoyed it and hope to return.

We spent 8 days with Yasmina and her family, and they made it so hard to leave. We felt at home every day, and Yasmina helped with pretty much anything we needed. The location is perfect, right beside one of the best beaches in Rangiroa. They made the best meals we had during our stay. There were bikes for all the guests, even a seat for our baby to ride along. We hope we can come back one day. Mauruuru.

Alain made the whole stay feel like home. He speaks every language, helped us book the activities we wanted, cooked delicious food, and was great company. When we return to Rangiroa, we know where we'll stay. The rooms were adorable, with a kitchen, medium-sized fridge, a strong fan for hot weather, and the most comfortable bed we slept in during our time in French Polynesia. Each had a shaded private patio, and the main garden was one of the prettiest and best kept on the island, which is impressive since growing things on coral is hard. Meals were delicious and good value, especially dinner. The food was very fresh and better than more expensive meals we tried on the island. Family-style dinners were a fun way to meet the other guests. The location was great too, a quick 2 min walk from nice beaches, right next to Kia Ora. Bikes were easy to get, so you could reach any part of the island in around 30 min max.

This is a family-style pension, and Alain is very, very kind. It's clean, and he'll pick you up at the airport and do what he can to help during your stay. Free bikes make it possible to get around the island. It's not a luxury hotel, so it may not suit you if that's what you're looking for. But for a pleasant, clean room and a kind host, it's a good fit. Alain can cook for you, or there are places nearby where you can get a good lunch at a reasonable price.
