The Stanley Hotel & Suites

The direct link to Vision City shopping mall made things really practical. I could get to restaurants, coffee shops, a supermarket, ATM, and banks without going outside. The Stanley Hotel & Suites in Port Moresby was one of my most comfortable stays in PNG, with a large modern room, a very comfortable bed, strong WiFi, a huge open-air pool, and a big gym that was welcome after long flights. They also provide free airport pickup and luggage storage, which helped when I flew to Goroka for two days before returning. The airport is about 20 minutes away, depending on traffic. One tip: compare exchange rates before changing money. The exchange desk inside the mall wanted about 500 kina commission to exchange 2000 kina, which seemed crazy. I felt safe and comfortable there, and it was a practical place to stay. 🇵🇬

I was most impressed during my five-night stay. Everyone I met, from the waiters and receptionists to cleaners, security, and shuttle drivers, was friendly and smiling. They greeted me with “hello sir” or “good morning.” My room was large, very clean, and well presented. The pool is the best in PNG, apart from swimming in the Trobrian islands. The hotel connects directly to Vision Mega Mall, which has everything you need in a secure setting. I heard it will be renamed Sheraton next month, which speaks highly of the venue. Well done, team!

The room stayed spotless thanks to great housekeeping, and the reception staff were welcoming, professional, and ready to help. Security was outstanding and helped me feel comfortable and safe throughout my visit. Airport pickup was smoothly organized, so arriving was stress-free. I had an excellent stay and highly recommend the hotel.

The shopping centre next door was fun to look around, and the hotel itself was in a great spot. We stayed a couple of nights. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly and always happy to have a chat. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the food was high quality. Great service too.
