Hotel Georgina

There was no wifi at first, and I had to call four times to get it fixed. The TV was okay, but the AC was noisy and manual, the blanket too thin, and there was a foul smell when we came in. The pool wasn’t well maintained or kid friendly. There were no cabinets or elevator, which was a problem with big luggage, and the staff didn’t seem willing to help. The place was fair overall, but far from the tourist spots if you’re commuting, with no nearby restaurant.

The pool was a highlight, large, clean, and cool, with a fountain. The rooms were clean and excellent, and the staff could help with whatever you needed and spoke great English. For an affordable hotel, it feels more like a resort. Toots, the local bar, is also great and less than 50 meters away on foot.

There aren’t many budget places with a pool, but this one is quite far from the main Tagaytay strip. As a western tourist, you’ll need a trike or jeep. Food choices nearby are limited, though if you’re taking the bus from Manilla, it’s easy to get dropped at the junction a couple of minutes from the hotel. The rooms are very basic. I’d pay a little more for somewhere nicer and closer to town.

A good budget option, with friendly staff and a choice of room sizes for different group numbers. The parking area is wide, and the pool stays clean, so kids should enjoy it. The food is okay, though I’d rather eat outside.
