The best part was the convenient location near SM Clark. The rest of our Valentine’s weekend stay was frustrating from the outset. Wi-Fi barely worked most of the time, and when it did connect, it was unstable, which would be a problem if you need to work or rely on internet access. Our keycard and door lock wouldn’t work. Every time we left and came back, we had to ask staff to open the door manually with their keys. Their keycard didn’t work either, which made it seem like the lock was the problem. It was inconvenient and took time. We were also asked to pay for a towel we’d used as a floor mat, because it got stained by our feet or footwear. There was no rug in the room when we checked in. Staff later said a small towel was supposed to serve as a mat, but it wasn’t there, so we used the extra towel, as many hotels allow for a bath mat. They said the cost would come out of housekeeping’s pay if we didn’t pay, which felt pressuring. They also said we should have asked for a rug, though one should have been provided. It seemed unfair and was handled poorly. Not a great experience for what was supposed to be a special weekend. I hope management improves the facilities and guest service policies.

The pool is nice, and the caring staff make this a good value. Some rooms have problems, like no hot water or air conditioning that can’t be adjusted, or no AC at all. But once you find a good room, it’s more than worth the cost. I recommend it.

It wasn’t a pleasant stay. The bathtub was dirty, and the room didn’t have cups or utensils despite having an electric kettle. We reported the broken TV several times and were told it would be fixed, but nothing happened. Customer service was very disappointing.

The staff were the highlight for me, so friendly, warm, welcoming, and helpful. I’ve been to Angeles many times, and this was the first time I’d experienced service with this much smiling. Fave Hotel has just reopened as the former Hotel America, and once you get a working room it’s a good deal, with a nice, cool swimming pool. Just be aware that some rooms aren’t fully functional. One might have no safe, another a broken remote or aircon, and some have a broken bathtub.
