The cleaning staff were kind and hardworking, and the hotel looked fine at first. But our room smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke that it hit us as soon as we walked in. We were told most rooms allow smoking and only a few are non-smoking. After we complained to the manager and general manager, staff took down the curtains and rugs, deodorized the room, and cleaned it again. We watched from the hallway. It was that bad. I asked to move so my wife and I wouldn't get sick, but they made switching difficult and the general manager said we'd have to pay extra. I agreed, since I'd rather pay than get sick. We stayed three nights and four days. Clubs are directly across the street, so expect loud music late at night. The streets are narrow and poorly maintained, which can make walking around difficult. The cleaners were the hotel's real bright spot. I'd suggest staying somewhere else.

The staff were consistently cheerful and welcoming, whatever the time of day, and seemed to enjoy their work. We also liked the rooftop bar, with plenty of TVs, a pool area, and a wraparound balcony overlooking the area. The drinks were good. The restaurant food was good too, though a little overpriced. Our room at Queens Hotel in Angeles City was clean and bigger than we expected for the price. It's only a short walk, about one block, to the bars and nightclubs on walking street, now called red street, and there's a really good Korean Restaurant across the street. The pool area was nice, though unfortunately the hot tub was no warmer than the pool. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel. We'd be glad to come back.

It's good to see The Living Room open again after being closed since the pandemic. The game room has billiards, darts, chess, and beer pong(?), plus several big-screen TVs for sports. The billiard table was clean, level, and in good condition. There were six usable pool cues, though they could use some service. The dartboard was worn, with only two working darts. There's also a large balcony for smokers and a full-service bar separate from the game room, and you can get food from the in-house restaurant. Queens costs a bit more than other local hotels, but I think it's worth it. The staff are outstanding, the location is prime, and the rooms are exceptional. There's a restaurant and swimming pool on the property too.

The staff were great throughout, from reception and the bellhops to the pool attendant and front door security. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. They provided two complimentary bottles of water, and the fridge and snack area were fully stocked. Reception would call my room when my friends left, which was thoughtful and helped make sure there were no issues. There are lots of bars, restaurants, and shops within a five-minute walk, plus a 7/11. The pool was nice, and you can order drinks at the bar overlooking it. I heard the restaurant steak house was good, though I didn't try it. The gym on the fifth floor was decent as well. I spent three nights here as a place to land and relax.

I chose The Queens hotel after looking at many places online, and stayed for 20 nights in November late last year. The location, service, and staff were very good. Everyone was friendly and helped with whatever I needed, even making change. The doormen were especially nice, always smiling and going out of their way to help with service and security. Maintenance was available around the clock and responded immediately. I had the balcony executive room, their best and most expensive option. It was large, with a very comfortable king bed and a big sunny balcony overlooking a fantastic pool. The balcony had an adjustable sun lounger plus outdoor chairs and a table, which I really liked. The pricing left me unhappy. I paid before arriving and was charged the same nightly rate for all 20 nights, with no discount. I later learned that paying cash for 16 nights on arrival would have qualified for 25% off, a huge discount, and I wish they had told me before my stay. The hotel also had a one-month deal for 90,000 pesos for the same room, while I paid 112,000 pesos for 20 nights. I don't understand why none of these discounts or specials were mentioned beforehand. The room didn't feel newly renovated. The bathtub had a permanent stain and loose side tiles. I called maintenance twice to get the bath hot water working. On the second visit they removed the loose tiles and fixed the problem, but left dirt all over the floor and put the tiles back even looser. All four pillows were flat, which wasn't what I expected in the best room of a four-star hotel. The old outdoor furniture had a few holes, but that didn't bother me much because the balcony itself was great. Noise between 4 and 6 a.m. on some nights was a major problem and ruined my sleep. The karaoke bar across the road got very loud around 3 or 4 a.m. and quieted down around 6 or 6:30. Then builders on the next-door site started using angle grinders and hammers, leaving me exhausted. They should renovate and soundproof all balcony rooms, especially the large, expensive balcony executive rooms, and replace the pillows with bigger, fluffier ones. Guests should also hear about specials and discounts before arrival. Would I stay again? Absolutely, if the outdated balcony executive rooms were renovated and soundproofed.
