Villa 301 B&B

The room smelled strongly of mould, the Wi-Fi kept lagging, though WhatsApp at least worked, and there are plenty of better, cheaper options nearby. We booked two nights at Villa 301 B & B. When we reached our room at night, the receptionist, Cherry, said her boss claimed we had booked through trip.com instead of booking.com, which wasn’t true, and that a supposed double booking meant we had to leave the next morning. Calls with the owner went on until 23:00, and the answer was to leave and sort out a refund with trips.com. Early the next day, we got a completely different plan, followed by more calls and long, pointless conversations. We got no refund. A scam. I hope nobody else has to go through what we did.

We only spent one night at Villa 301 B & B, but the warm welcome made it feel like visiting our own tita’s house. Everything was cozy and homey, and we felt relaxed right away. A special thank you to Auntie Caretaker, whose name we forgot to ask. She was so kind, caring, and attentive, making sure we had what we needed and treating us like family. Thanks for such a lovely stay. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, home-like place in Bohol.

We had a reservation for two nights, had paid, and had a booking confirmation on booking, but the owner contacted the woman working at the property and said we couldn’t stay. She insisted there was no booking and told us we had to leave the next morning. She was rude throughout and kept us up for hours. At 07:00 the next morning, she came back, again said there was no booking, and accused us of scamming her. From our side, everything was in order. She refuses to return our money and sent rude emails calling us thieves. The woman at the property is doing her best, but I can’t recommend staying here because of the owner’s behavior. Be careful, it feels like a scam.

After a year of traveling, this is the most unprofessional and greedy owner I’ve come across. Avoid the place if you don’t want to arrive and find that the room you booked and paid for isn’t available, with your money gone too.
