The Marc Vannelli Oslob

Right along the main highway, it was a convenient place to stay in Oslob. The staff were very accommodating and the food was okay, though most things felt average. Our room wasn’t cleaned very thoroughly and there were some bugs flying around, but at least the linens were crisp and not moldy. I hope they improve on those small issues. The room may not work well for seniors or people with disabilities, especially if you’re put on an upper floor. There’s no elevator and the stairs are very steep.

The food was tasty, but the service at Marc Vannelli's restaurant took nearly two hours, and by the time some dishes arrived they were no longer hot. We came as walk-ins on Christmas Day because the restaurant was open while others in Oslob were closed. It has a great view and wasn’t completely busy when we arrived. The server said food would take an hour and a half because reservations were served first. We understood, but ended up as the only table still waiting while other diners had finished and left. No complimentary food was offered to make up for the wait. Later, more customers arrived and heavy rain started. Since the restaurant is outdoors with only a small glass canopy, the staff didn’t check whether we were getting soaked or needed to move indoors. I’ve eaten at plenty of busy restaurants where an hour was the longest wait, but I’d never had to wait almost two hours before. The slow service could use improvement.

The first night at The Marc Vannelli Hotel felt just perfect. It’s a charming little place with comfortable rooms, lovely views, and tasty food. The cleanliness really stood out ✨💛

The room itself was good, but the hotel has no lift. The staff at reception and the attendants came across as unprofessional and unwelcoming. They didn't greet us, and when rain started while we were having drinks one night, nobody checked whether we were staying dry or were alright. At checkout I still owed about 300 pesos for those drinks. The receptionist just tapped the bill to point out the amount. It felt neither hospitable nor accommodating.
