Our stay at Aberry Shore Resort Hotel was very pleasant. The place is modern and clean, with quiet air conditioning, strong shower pressure, and plenty of parking. There was a little construction outside, but it barely affected us. The beach is right behind the hotel, and the area looks lovely lit up at night. We also enjoyed the sunset views. Keep in mind that not every room faces the water. Some of the rooms at the back overlook a dirt field, so ask for or book a beach-facing room if the view matters to you. The restaurant’s food was acceptable, though during our stay they only took cash. Check-in also required a 2,000 PHP cash security deposit, which was returned promptly when we checked out.

We were a family group of about 20+ pax, and the peaceful atmosphere gave us a nice chance to spend quality time together. The beach was fantastic and relaxing, without feeling crowded. It’s on the calmer side of La Union. The staff were kind and helpful, too. Maybe they could add a guard for security.

The food was really, really good, and the staff were friendly. Rooms were great, and being able to get unlimited mineral water was a big plus for me. At night you can hear the waves, which is so relaxing. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. Before booking, I was worried the open layout might be a security issue, but the place has tight security and lots of people around. In my opinion, it’s the best place nearby, and I’d be happy to stay at Aberry Shore instead of touring around.

We picked Aberry because we needed somewhere to stay for an aquathlon nearby, and it turned out to be right next to the venue. The beach is right in front, with a beautiful sunset view, and the rooms are pretty. The pool is nice as well. Since the place is new and still in its soft opening, a few things could use work. There was no hair dryer or room slippers, and they were strict about asking for a room check after the stay. They also required a Php2000 security deposit. The staff were very accommodating, though, and it’s a lovely place otherwise.

The outside and shore area are really well designed, and I hope they keep them up or improve them over time. Inside, the rooms are fairly standard for a small boutique hotel. The building itself is in good shape. They’d been open for about a month when we visited, so it’s still early in their soft opening. We got off to a bumpy start because the staff were new and still learning the process. A few things management could improve: give guests a copy of the long house rules, or leave a laminated one in each room; make sure the front desk QR codes work, since the feedback form was inactive when I tried it and the concierge said they’d tell the manager; and put up a sign explaining that there’s no card terminal. I wanted to pay by credit card, but couldn’t. The second-floor door was left open several times. We kept shutting the balcony door to avoid wasting electricity, but found it open again an hour later. I’m not sure whether staff or guests were opening it. If it was guests, it’s worth keeping an eye on because those costs add up. They should also decide whether to air-condition the hallway and follow through consistently. Breakfast was complimentary and standard, nothing special. The staff there seemed pretty unbeat, so hopefully it improves as things settle. Good food can really put a place on the map in La Union. Some small details: the bathroom trash can was outside the bathroom door, not sure if that was intentional; the bathrobes were SO SOFT, literally better than Okada and Shangrila; there was no toothbrush or slippers, hopefully in the future. I loved the printed greeting they left in the room. The blackout curtains were high quality, and the smart TV was up to date and responsive, kudos, lots of hotels get that wrong. There’s a 2k security deposit, so keep that in mind if you’re cashless. The shower had really good pressure and consistent temperature. The room was clean, but still a little sandy from the last guest, maybe a swiffer with a microfiber cloth could get those last bits. There were some hiccups, but with time and training this place could bloom.
