MO2 Westown Hotel Bacolod - Mandalagan

The beds were comfortable and parking was good, but as a foreigner I didn’t have a great experience. Mold and its smell were in the rooms and hallways. The windows don’t open, which adds to the mold in the rooms. I’d look for a better place.

I stayed in deluxe room#115, and it was good: spacious, with furniture that felt like an old money-family room. The counters were marble, and the bathroom sink was red granite. There was a mini bar and complementary water. The Wi-Fi was intermittent, so I had to use my data as a hotspot. I wanted to stay longer, but they were fully booked. One thing I didn’t like was how slowly they responded to calls or SMS, maybe because there was only one person at the front desk. The restaurant offered room service until 3am. I’ll definitely be back.

We weren’t comfortable in the rooms we booked and asked to move to different ones, but the hotel refused, apparently because of money. They negotiated for an extra bed and charged for an extra person too, so we paid more than we would have for a family room. The rooms had poor ventilation, a strong odor, and dust. For the two extra beds, they gave us duvets instead of blankets. The service was poor, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my family or friends.

The rooms smelled awful, the view was blocked by a tall wall, and the food was below average. When we arrived, nobody greeted us with a smile, and we didn’t feel welcome. Loud music from a nearby joint went on until 2 am. I can’t really recommend this place.
