The Circuit Manor Hotel near Ayala Malls Circuit

There's a lot within a few minutes' walk, and the location worked well. I couldn't figure out the hot water controls, though. There was a temperature remote in the shower that did nothing, when apparently all you needed to do was turn the tap left. I also spotted a few cockroaches in the room.

The rooms were clean, and the rooftop was a nice place for photos of the view, especially at night. There’s also a Moonleaf where you can sit and relax. The plugs were a bit far from where I needed them, but they offer extension cords. Getting to Ayala Circuit takes a few minutes on foot, though walking can feel tiring in the heat. If you're tired or don't feel like walking, you'll need to book a ride. I'd give the location two stars: it isn't bad, but it can take some effort. I stayed one afternoon, one night, and one morning, and had a good stay overall. Thank you.

We asked for early check-in and were turned down even though occupancy was low. When the reception staff member, who also worked with the bakery, finally checked us in at 3pm, the room was filthy, as if the previous guests had just left. They moved us, but the replacement was much smaller than the photos showed and had no towels. The same staff member said clean towels would arrive by 7pm. When none came, I called and another staff member said he'd look for some in vacant rooms. The roof deck wasn't clean and smelled bad. I saw an ashtray on a table, so I think smoking may have been allowed there. The refrigerator was full of rubbish, and there was no mini pool. There wasn't a security guard on site either. The person who checked us in seemed completely indifferent, like he didn't enjoy his job. Worst staycation ever!

The mattresses were more comfortable than at most places I've stayed on this trip, and the value seemed fair. I found this spot while looking around Makati Ave. The small staff seem to wear several hats, which gives the place a cared-for, host-like feel rather than a random employee vibe.
