Damara Beachfront Resort

The location is the only thing Damara Beachfront Resort has going for it. Our stay was awful, and I’d tell people to avoid booking here. The rooms are small and not soundproof, so good luck if other guests are having a party. The room was listed for six people, but we got only three blankets, and each extra blanket costs 100. Staff made excuses and said places all over Baler do the same. There’s a 600 charge to cook in the dining area, and the owner seems focused on money. Staff service was poor and they weren’t accommodating when we asked for things. Toiletries were incomplete, and there’s no free water or coffee. Everything comes with a fee, and cooking for free isn’t allowed. NEVER AGAIN TO DAMARA RESORT!

The place sits right on the beach, but the rooms didn’t impress me and the photos make it look better than it is. Could’ve been worse, though.

We didn’t go inside, because we’d heard the reviews were bogus. The property is about 400 metres farther along a sandy dirt track than the map indicates. Construction debris was still scattered around and the pool wasn’t finished. I gave it three stars to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Damara caused even more inconvenience than I expected.
