Spark Camp - Baler

We had a great stay and plan to come back soon. The air conditioner kept the room cool for a good night's sleep, and the place is pet-friendly. The pool was cold and refreshing, and they can help set you up if you want to try surfing. Wi-Fi and water pressure could use improvement, though.

The river behind the property was a highlight, with mangroves, lots of little fish, and even a mudcrab. We also enjoyed the pool because they use fresh water and change it regularly. There’s a free kayak, plus billiards for Php 50/hr and karaoke for Php 100/hr. Spark Camp is a quiet, laid-back place that gave us the rest we needed from city life. You can use the kitchen and utensils for free, or order food and drinks if you don’t feel like cooking. The owners are hands-on and really accommodating. I talked with Rich most of the time, and the service was great. We got a free room upgrade too, thanks! It’s become my place to stay in Baler, and I’d definitely come back when I need a break. 1.5.26 to 1.8.26

What made this a five-star stay for me was the peaceful atmosphere. It really encourages you to slow down and relax. Our room was cozy and had its own outdoor spot to sit, and we even got a free upgrade. The shared bathroom was clean and tidied every morning. Breakfast was included and really good, and ordering through their online store was easy. We didn’t use the pool, but that was fine. I’ll definitely be back!!🥹💗

At 799/day for one or two people, this is hard to beat. The nipa huts are clean and peaceful, with a laid-back feel and plenty of room, unlike some cramped huts around the area. Towels are fresh and mineral water is free. Sabang Beach is a ten-minute walk if you want to learn to surf. Just a heads-up, it’s often fully booked, with locals and foreigners staying for weeks or even months. Getting a booking longer than three days is lucky. Go book it!
