Coco Grove Tourist Inn is handy for getting to Tagbilaran and Panglao, and it's near the church in Poblacion, Dauis, Bohol. We were disappointed, though. The night before, we'd stayed at an inn with complete facilities that felt worth more than what we paid, so the difference here was hard to miss. The building and amenities are old, and the place doesn't look impressive. It may be fine if you don't care much about the atmosphere, but there were cobwebs and it could use cleaning, renovation, or a change of theme. The shower and sink pressure kept fluctuating, though at least there was water. We requested room service and they cleaned, but didn't replace the towels. Customer service needs work. We'd booked because it was listed with Red Doorz, and we'd had impeccable service and room quality at four other Red Doorz inns and hotels, so we expected more.

The air conditioner does manage to cool the room, but the rest needs work. The TV didn't work, the free Wi-Fi was slow, the water pressure was low, and the place was dirty. It's an old building, but with proper upkeep and cleaning it could be a nice place to stay.

The TV didn't work, and there was no hot water either. I think the low water pressure may have been the reason. They quoted us 900 PHP for an extension but charged 1,000, even though I had paid only 600 PHP for the first night.

The room was spacious and the staff were accommodating. They can arrange vans with a very hospitable driver when you need one. It's good value for the money and serves breakfast, though there is no swimming pool. The property is away from the main road, but you can get there by private car or tricycle.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the price was good. My husband and I stayed in February 2013 while I was pregnant, so we requested a room on the ground or second floor and were given Room 202 for the whole visit. It was cozy, with a hot and cold shower, Wi-Fi in the room, cable TV, and an air conditioner that seemed well maintained. They serve food in a small café-like room beside the lobby. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but it was enough to fill you up for the day. I'd recommend it to budget travelers.
