Grand Boracay Resort

We left and booked another place nearby at short notice because this hotel didn’t meet our expectations for cleanliness or upkeep. The room and property looked old and worn. There were several mosquitoes and a spider with a web in the room, visible mold around the beds, and the bathroom was in a separate room without air conditioning. It was very humid, so the window had to stay open. We reported the issues at reception, but they couldn’t help and sent us to the booking platform. Hotel support there simply said a refund wasn’t possible, then ignored us. The new hotel was very close and suited us much better. For anyone who values cleanliness and a well-maintained place, I can’t recommend this one. In our experience, management seemed aware of the problems and did nothing; several other reviews here and elsewhere say similar things. Also see the attached picture.

The location was good, close to many establishments, with a useful shortcut to d mall. The resort itself was quiet, and we couldn’t hear the loud neighboring establishment from inside the room. The breakfast buffet was okay, at least it was a buffet, though they should get more glasses and plates so they don’t run out. Cutting the butter into smaller pieces would also stop everyone lining up to use the same block. We were a family of five put in a worn-out room in the far building. I think management shouldn’t use that room when guests are paying full price. Staff could be more accommodating instead of always responding negatively. When we requested a toilet cleanup, they said there was a long line of rooms. The extra bed we paid for took four to five hours to arrange. Wifi was very unstable, so you can’t work remotely, and mobile signal was weak there for both Globe and Smart. If I return to Boracay, I’ll stay somewhere else.

We stayed four nights. The room was very spacious, with a heater and bidet in the CR. The Filipino breakfast buffet gets 4/5, and I’d give the room 4/5 too. It’s an affordable option with the main street close by, though the beach is probably about five minutes away.

We stayed May 22-24 last week, and I’m glad we chose this place. The location is quiet and convenient, with a shortcut to dmall and the beach. Staff were courteous and accommodating. At reception they provide free beach towels, and you can ask to have your room towels changed each day. The buffet breakfast had what we needed: coffee, bread, soup of the day, rice or fried rice, and ulam. The room was decent, with a clean restroom, working heater, and standard toiletries. I’d book here again.
