Wendy's Apartelle

Our dragon boat race trip to Boracay was made memorable by Wendy's Apartelle. The owner was welcoming from the start, gave our group a generous discount, and did a lot to make sure we were comfortable. The restaurant next door served affordable, delicious breakfasts and dinners, and towels and blankets were provided. We stayed three nights in a room made for 15 people. Even with the team packed in, the space was used well, and the two CR and aircon units kept everyone comfortable. There were no windows, but that made the room feel cozy for relaxing after competition. A clever clothes-hanging spot behind the aircon helped dry our gear, and the showers had steady water pressure. There was no cellphone signal in the room, and WiFi only worked in the lobby. That gave us a chance to disconnect and bond as a team, and the lobby also encouraged mingling and sharing stories with other guests. We can’t wait to come back for our next adventure!

Comfortable and budget friendly, this place is in front of station X (Hue Hotel) and close to the nearby beach area. It works well for visiting the island in either a small or large group.

We stayed for three nights, and it was a horrible experience. The room smelled like old paint mixed with a dead rat, so we were glad to be out all day. There was no exhaust, and the toilet sink was so small that after flushing, your poop came back up. Only one of the three outlets we found worked. Cellphone signal was completely unavailable in the room, and the WiFi only worked at reception.

The room was far too small, so don’t stay here if you’re claustrophobic. There were only two towels for four people, and we had to put up with the smell of the freshly painted room at night. The bathroom might have been the one thing to like, but water kept running out of the faucet, so we had to fill a container overnight to wash in the morning. Luckily, other hotels had rooms available.
