White House Beach Resort

We stayed four nights in this fairly new villa in the cluster near The Lind, in the best part of White Beach at Station 1. The beachfront is private and beautiful, with chairs, umbrellas, and a jacuzzi tub. There's also a pool behind the house. With five bedrooms, the place is quite large. The helpful staff cooked on request for a modest fee, and offered to prepare food in their quarters and bring it to the dining area because the kitchen has no exhaust system and cooking smells linger. The house was very clean and well maintained, the pools were cared for, and the jacuzzi water was changed daily. There's a 24-hour guard, and the Wi-Fi worked quite well. Downstairs are a lanai, living room and kitchen, plus two bedrooms. One has its own bathroom; the other uses the bathroom beside the kitchen. Upstairs, a huge master bedroom has an open bathroom, bathtub, and terrace facing the beach. Two more rooms are up there, one connected to the master and one across the landing. Both look toward the back pool. The room joined to the master had an unpleasant smell, probably from the drainage. The furniture is fairly new and the kitchen equipment is very good. Everything worked except the large living-room TV, which wouldn't turn on. The dining table is too small, and the ceiling lights around the room's perimeter don't properly light it. At USD 1,000 a day in low season, it feels overpriced and isn't especially good value. Still, if you're willing to spend that much, it's enjoyable, and we'd consider coming back.

The staff, especially Jona & Irene, made us feel the best of Filipino hospitality. They looked after us from check-in through meals and happy hour, cooking us delicious lunches and dinners, including a mango mojito. We also had lovely massages. We stayed three days and two nights last February, with our family of 10. For us, this is hands down the best place to stay in Station 1 Boracay, and the location is hard to beat. We'll definitely return when we're back in Boracay. We already miss it!

At the edge of Station One in Boracay, this private beach house has five bedrooms, including a huge master with a beach-facing balcony. There's also a beach-facing porch and a Jacuzzi beside the water. A swimming pool sits at the back, along with the kitchen and living area.

Jean in reservations was superb and helped with everything I could think of. This really felt like a proper vacation, one I'll be writing about. I'll definitely come back.
