River View Inn

The aircon was old, the lavatory was clogged and its drain wouldn't turn because it was stuck. The door wouldn't lock, and there was no faucet, WiFi, or bidet.

We stayed two nights because there was no other choice by then. Almost every hotel in Cagayan was full due to the ANCOM event and another religious event. The place itself was nice, the parking lot spacious, and staff friendly and helpful. Still, I gave it one star. When the power went out, it took a couple of minutes for the backup generator to start supplying electricity. The shower needs replacing because it’s no longer in good condition, and water took hours to drain from the shower floor. The comfort room walls need repair.

The staff are very friendly and the service is nice. The rooms are okay, and for what you pay, you’re getting more than expected. People complain a lot, but keep in mind this is an inn, not a five-star hotel. To me, they provide four-star hotel service for the price. Thanks, Cagayan River view inn. We’ll be back. It’s between uptown and downtown, near everything.

The place has a good ambiance, but the room had several problems. In my room and my friend's room, the doors couldn't be locked from outside. Some appliances were broken, and the faucet needs an easier-to-grip handle, especially when your hands are soapy. The bathroom light was dim and not fully fitted, so you could see how it was attached. The bathroom tiles also weren't properly cleaned and had residue. One personal question: why is the window lock on room 204? The windows were broken and couldn't be opened for fresh air. You could move the back of the bed, the part you rest against, forward and backward, which was a bad thing.
