Holiday Plaza Hotel - Cebu

The location was very good, and that's the main reason we chose this hotel. At around 3k-5k, though, we expected much better. The room was dirty, with cockroaches and ants even in the bathroom. The sheets had holes and stains, which felt unhygienic. The bathroom had no bidet, and its broken shower holder meant you had to hold the shower the whole time. The TV was very old and barely worked. Worst of all, the WiFi was painfully slow and often had no connection. The poor cleanliness and broken facilities made the stay frustrating despite the convenient location.

I booked a suite for my family for Sinulog Festival 2026 as soon as it was available in January this year, even though the booking was non-refundable. They'd stayed here during Sinulog Festival last January 2025 and said it was okay, and the staff had been nice and accommodating, so booking again seemed like a safe choice. After 10 months, I found out the hotel had canceled the reservation. They did refund the full amount, but why cancel a confirmed booking so late? It's now hard to find another hotel near the parade route. My family has been excited about the trip all this time, and I don't know what to tell them. I'm extremely disappointed. This is frustrating and unacceptable.

I was here for 3 nights, and it was a terrible stay. The hotel felt extremely old, with doors dragging on the floor, filthy carpets, and a bathtub falling apart. The room smelled like massage oil, and the bathroom was like a public toilet. Even the sink tap didn't work, so I had to collect water from the shower in a cup. I arrived at 10 PM, well past check-in, but there were no towels, toilet paper, or bottled water in the room. I called twice and got no response, then went to the lobby and found the staff rude and dismissive. Definitely not worth it.

The front desk didn't feel welcoming, and at times came across a bit sassy. When I reported the broken power outlet in my room, they just told me to use the one in the bathroom. They didn't offer to fix it or move me to another room. You also have to call for room service, which seemed crazy to me. The rooms were outdated and had ants. They give you only one card, and it has to power the room, so after you leave and come back it's hot, and anything in the mini fridge gets hot too. They wouldn't give me a second card like other hotels do. Parklane and the main hotel were a much better experience. For the same price, there are 2 star hotels elsewhere with more amenities and accommodation. Honestly, it's ridiculous, and I'd avoid this place if you can.
