The best part of our three-night stay at Rajah hotel was the friendly, accommodating service. The Filipino/American breakfast was good, but the worst part came down to management issues. We had five guests in two rooms. The room for three had working A/C and hot water on demand. In my wife's and my room, the A/C barely worked, though the hot water worked when we first tried it. By the second day, the room was uncomfortably warm because the A/C wasn't working properly and a wall made mostly of windows magnified the heat, despite the nice view of the Funte Circle. The hot-water boiler had also been turned off. We were moved to a larger room with working A/C, but that room was also on the boiler, and the hotel didn't seem to have a set schedule for when it was on or off, or advertise one. There was water damage in the rooms from leaking ceilings, with bubbles in the ceiling but no visible mold spots. The rooms were moderately clean.

The rooms were clean and spacious, with a calming feel that made it easy to relax. The people working there were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The male concierge and reception staff, including Ms. Mary, Hana, and others, helped make my stay comfortable. The hotel is in Cebu City's uptown area, with Robinsons Fuente, Colon, Ayala, and SM all a short taxi ride away.

Clean, central, and everything worked. The staff were super friendly and efficient, and the hotel is close to everything. It isn't luxury, and my room had no windows, but that was fine with me. I'll be back, just like Arnie!

The location overlooking Fuente Osmeña Park is handy, with shops, restaurants, malls, and businesses all around. I was told parking can be tricky, though we didn't have a car. The hotel has a bar, restaurant, spa, and small casino on the top floor, plus Peak & Pi, an amazing coffee shop on the ground floor. The staff are wonderful, and the architecture and mix of contemporary and historic artwork are interesting. It's straightforward but has a luxury style, and for the location and price it's a wonderful place and great value.
