Richmond Plaza Hotel

The view from the window was of construction materials left to rot on the balconies. They looked like they'd been there since before the pandemic, and were covered in mold and rust. I asked the female receptionist whether the room had hot water. She said yes, but there wasn't any. Staff who lie to you like that make it clear there are better hotels elsewhere.

The location near Ayala is the one good thing. The room was in awful condition, with only one ceiling light for both the room and bathroom, weak water pressure, and no bidet. They provided a thin blanket instead of a comforter. The hotel feels like it's a century old and has been poorly maintained. Staff didn't care about my concerns. If zero stars were an option, I'd give it zero.

The staff were helpful and professional, and being right next to Ayala mall is convenient. But the missing hot water in the shower was already a deal breaker. Then, just after I got off the elevator, a giant rat about the size of my shoe ran down the hall. Rats in the hotel were an even bigger deal to me than a hot shower, so I dropped my rating from three stars to one. The TV wasn't a smart TV either, so there was no Netflix or other streaming.

The prices are great, but that's the end of the good things. We booked, then realized I'd got the dates wrong and called right away to ask for a date change. We only wanted to change the dates, not get a refund, but the staff were evasive and nobody seemed interested in helping sort out the booking mistake. They took our money without providing the service. This is a trash company, and they're the people you should trust.
