Skyblue Hotel

The room facilities really don’t deserve a good review. The shower didn’t work, the AC dripped, there was no phone, and we only got one towel. There was no table or chairs, the setup was awkward, and it smelled really musty when we walked in. parang mas ok pa sa sogo. hahahah. Expectations versus reality, for sure. Check Google reviews first. The location is definitely prime, and the breakfast tasted great. The room itself was the problem.

Breakfast was delicious and generously portioned, and the staff in the restaurant were courteous. We could choose Milkfish, Tocino, or Corn Beef, each served with a sunny side egg, rice, and sliced cucumber and tomato. The coffee was very good, and the breakfast area was nice. We stayed three nights and enjoyed it a lot. The whole staff was amazing, and the hotel was clean, with a comfortable room and CR. There were a few drawbacks: just one outlet in the room, by the door and away from the beds, and the flat screen had no channels to watch. The shower was nice, but the water wasn’t very hot. The walls are thin, so noise from outside the room carries in. Even so, we’d return to Skyblue next time we’re in Cebu.

The old key system and the notice that the TV was broken should have been warning signs, but we trusted the Booking.com photos and chose this hotel because it was close to the school I’m planning to attend. We only needed one night and booked in a rush, so we hadn’t read the reviews. The room was smaller and more neglected than expected as soon as we opened the door. We’d spent the day running errands and hadn’t really used the bed, so we were hoping for somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep. Instead, there were lots of hairs of different lengths on the bed, and they weren’t ours. The sheets looked more than two decades old, and the pillows had obvious stains. It looked like the room had been prepared carelessly. After a stressful day, we had to make do and use our clothes as temporary pillowcases. I’d never recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Calling the stay horrible would be a huge understatement. I hope management takes this seriously, because ignoring it is only going to ruin the business.

For a budget hotel, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was very good. The staff were pleasant and helpful too. We were pleasantly surprised. It’s a great option for a night in the city or a budget stay, so ignore the other reviews.
