Tsai Hotel and Residences

At check-in, my room was dirty and smelled bad, so I had to call housekeeping to clean it. The bathroom is tiny, and shower water runs out into the toilet area and floods the floor. Getting back the two-month deposit is a dated, inconvenient process that takes weeks. I had to wait in line just to cash the cheque. Their billing rule is frustrating too: guests have to pay through the 15th regardless of their check-in date. For instance, checking in on the 10th still means paying from the 11th through the 15th.

There are lots of shops nearby and public transport is easy to reach, so the location works well as a base for exploring. Rates are reasonable for such a central spot, with promotions for walk-ins and direct bookings. The room had baby flies in the bathroom, and cleanliness in some areas didn’t meet expectations. Basic amenities are provided, but they could do a better job keeping things clean. It’s a decent affordable option, though I hope they improve the upkeep.

We didn’t sleep at all in Room 404. There’s no insulation, so motorcycle engines, restaurant music and laughter, and barking dogs all came through. The shower is poorly designed too, with water escaping toward the door and flooding the whole bathroom floor.

The street felt unsafe, with some shady people nearby, and the area around the hotel seemed really dodgy. Staff were rude and wouldn’t accommodate my request for a blanket. The sheets had stains in places, and the bathroom water wasn’t really hot. I can’t recommend it.
