Busuanga Island Paradise Hotel

The sea life around here is incredible, and they take real care to protect it. I saw so much underwater that sorting through my videos was a challenge. Our package included diving, a town tour, and island hopping, all privately arranged. On the boat trip it was just the two of us, two crew members, and Albert from the resort. He helped my wife snorkel by towing her with a life ring between four different spots, since she isn't a strong swimmer. Diving was just me, another diver, and two crew. We hardly saw anyone else at the resort, which made meals wonderfully quiet and the whole stay feel close and personal. The kitchen brought our food and left us to enjoy it. Everyone was friendly, especially Jen, though they seemed a little shy when we wanted photos. The food was great too. Excellente!

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the pool was lovely, with clean water at a perfect temperature. The staff were kind and very helpful. The resort is peaceful, though quite cut off from other places to eat. The shuttle ran only once a day, and paying for another trip was prohibitively expensive, which was frustrating because we didn't enjoy the restaurant food. They seemed to be trying, but it didn't work for us; maybe it would suit someone who doesn't eat a Western-style diet. The stay was fine, but we were happier after moving to a hotel closer to town. BIP was priced higher than most, while the quality felt lower than at other places.

The people here really went out of their way to make us feel at home, with helpful suggestions for places to visit and eat. The cottages were clean and well cared for, and having a pool and restaurant on site meant we didn't mind the lack of nearby shops. It's a romantic place to stay with someone you love. Coron Town and the ferry terminal are about 30 minutes away, but the hotel offers a free pickup and drop-off van once a day at any time. You may be able to bargain for extra use too. I couldn't have asked for a better stay in Coron. It was worth the money.

The resort has lots of trees and a river around it, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and took care of arranging our transport and tours. The only drawback is getting to Coron town centre, about a 20-minute ride by tricycle.
