It’s a budget place with the essentials, including hot water, fast Wi-Fi, AC, and even a TV in our quadruple room. The staff were really friendly and helpful. My husband got sick during our stay, and they offered us a lot of help.

The location is a real hassle. It’s a long way from town, and the hilly walk takes about 20 minutes, so you’ll need a taxi or motorbike. There’s no SIM signal in the rooms or common area. Reception has Wi-Fi, but it’s weak and often cuts out. We found ants in the room, including all over our toothbrushes since there was no holder. There were also loud chickens and dogs, which kept me awake as a light sleeper, though that isn’t the hotel’s fault. The reception staff were nice, and the owner was pleasant at first. That changed after we complained about the breakfast service charge: some of the menu items we wanted weren’t available, and then parts of our order were forgotten. The owner said the business was new and asked guests for tips, but when we offered feedback she got defensive and cold. She also couldn’t quote a laundry price, saying she could only tell us after washing the clothes. On the only morning we could sleep in, she came into our locked room despite the “Do not disturb” sign. Luckily, we were covered. When we came out, she tried to ignore us, then apologized after we stood there. It may be cheap, but for us the experience wasn’t worth it.
It’s not the nicest place, but with low expectations it could work for a couple of nights. The rooms are okay, neither pretty nor ugly. The AC is awkwardly positioned and blows toward the bed. The shower gets hot, but the Wi-Fi in the room doesn’t load at all. You can book tours and other things here, which is handy, though most tour companies won’t pick you up because the hotel is 1.9 km outside town. You’ll need to walk or hire a tricycle. There’s no restaurant either. On the plus side, free hot and cold water is available anytime, along with coffee and sugar.
I stayed here in February 2020. The location is okay, a little way from downtown, but for the price it’s a very good find. The rooms were clean, there was AC, and the staff were helpful. They can arrange tours and airport or port transfers. Recommended!
We booked and paid for a room three days ahead, but when we arrived they claimed the booking hadn’t gone through. We lost an hour dealing with it. Two other couples had the same problem during that time, and another couple told us at least 10 people had run into it that morning. They were double booked. We’d already wasted four hours. Don’t stay here.
