Sky Garden Hotel

The biggest downside was the noise from being in Coron town. You could clearly hear people shouting outside, and it woke us at 6 a.m. Better soundproofing would help. The hallways also got a bit hot, so ceiling or electric fans there would be good. Our room was spacious, and I loved the balcony and sea view. The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was included, which was a nice touch.

The place felt neglected, noisy, and uncomfortable, and we left a day early because we couldn’t face another night. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. Noise made it hard to relax or sleep: the walls were so thin that we heard nearby guests’ TVs, conversations, showers, and even toilet use. The mattress was extremely hard, like concrete, and the hotel looked old and dated, with décor that seemed untouched for years and cleanliness below standard. The toilet smelled strongly of urine and faeces, making the room feel unhygienic. The pool was dirty and uninviting, with no atmosphere. Only one person was sitting there, which made the place feel empty and lifeless. The restaurant and food looked unappealing, so we chose not to eat there.

The staff were all friendly, and booking a trip and transfer with them cost the same as elsewhere. The room was okay and had everything we needed. The TV worked and had Netflix, and they provided nice-smelling toiletries and good-quality toilet paper. There was a funny smell when entering the hotel and in the lift, but you’re only passing through those areas. The aircon was quite noisy, and its controls were in Chinese. I wouldn’t bother with breakfast. Eat out for more variety and better-quality food.

The room had plenty of space and the sheets were clean, though the place could use better upkeep. The staff were helpful, and the view was great. We had to leave for the ferry station at 6 am, so we missed breakfast. Even so, it was a good stay.
