Vela Terraces Hotel

The staff are really lovely, kind, and chatty, and the location is perfect: away from the motorbikes but close enough to walk into town for everything. I stayed twice. The first time I was way up in room 5-something, which wasn’t great. I went away for a few days and asked if I could have a nicer room when I returned. They gave me a gorgeous one for almost the same price, 104, and I was very happy with my second stay. I’d recommend booking direct and asking for a nice room.

They made exploring Coron easy by helping with a motorbike rental and arranging tours. When we realized there were so few ATMs on the island and cards were rarely accepted, the staff even helped us sort out cash. That support made a big difference and let us enjoy the trip without stress. We had an excellent stay at Vela Terraces in Coron Town. The room was clean, comfortable, and tidy. There was one small issue, a broken bathroom lamp, but everything else worked perfectly. For great service, genuine hospitality, and a smooth stay, Vela Terraces is a solid choice.

The rooms are new, spacious, and well maintained. Staff were polite and helpful, the restaurant had great food and drinks, and you can book a next-day tour through the hotel. There’s a smoking area beside the restaurant, just a few steps across the main path. I was assigned a room at the very top of the hill, lol. The property is on the west side of Mt Tapyas and away from town. Going up and down is okay if you’re young and fit, but after a day of touring it takes a toll. Walking into town can be tiring, and there’s less public transport at night. The upside is that it’s quiet, peaceful, and relaxing after dark. It’s also close to McDonalds and the hospital.

The rooms were clean, basic, and well kept. There’s no elevator, so it’s a long walk up to the 4th and 5th levels. Restaurants and bars on the main street are a 20-minute walk away, while McDonald's is just five minutes on foot. Water pressure was okay, but the water was either hot or cold with no in-between. There was a huge gecko in the bathroom, which upset my girlfriend. She’s not a fan, lol.
