Blue Corals Beach Resort

Miss Jocelyn was kind when we arrived to book a room. She made sure we got the room she'd told us about the day before, with no reservation fee, just a receipt to sign. We paid in cash. The fan room cost ₱1,300 per night and was spacious, with two queen size beds and a window facing Bounty Beach. It was clean and smelled freshly cleaned, a bit like bleach. There was a large balcony overlooking the sea, plus beach-side and shaded hammocks by the entrance. The water pressure in the shower was strong, though the sink faucet wasn't; there was no hot water. Bounty Beach could be noisy at times from a few boats and karaoke at a nearby restaurant. The included breakfast was good, and we usually had a Filipino meal with brewed coffee. The staff were nice, and the dogs and cats around were well-behaved. Laundry was ₱150 per kg. Locals offered tours and services, but weren't intrusive. When bad weather nearly stranded us on the island and authorities hadn't given the go-ahead to leave, Miss Jocelyn let us stay until 2 PM at no charge. The only drawback was unreliable Wi-Fi. Definitely worth the price.

The room is decent for the price, and the staff are nice. I liked the breakfast too. The bathroom could use updating, though, and eating near the back area where the animals are meant I could smell cat and dog poop. That spot needs cleaning.

We booked the room without air conditioning by mistake, so we had a fan instead. The resort was full and an upgrade wasn't possible. It was hot and humid inside, as you'd expect in the tropics, but the fan was powerful enough that we slept fine. The rooms are simple, clean, and tidy, and they'll come in to clean if you ask. Free water refills for guests are handy. Good value for the price, and I'd return, but I'd definitely book a room with air conditioning next time.

The sunrise was amazing, and it was really quiet, which is hard to find in the PH. Our bungalow had no view, but there was a nice sitting area. Breakfast was included and fantastic, whether we ate at the restaurant or they packed it for me to take on the boat when I was diving offshore. The staff were very accommodating and I'd definitely stay again. The room was okay, nothing special, but at least the shower was hot. Great spot right by the sea.
