The private room was probably the most comfortable place we stayed on the whole trip, and the staff were lovely. Mariel was especially kind and gave us helpful recommendations. We only booked one night and wished we’d stayed longer. Before heading out for a shore dive after checkout, we had a great breakfast and coffee. Bongo Bongo’s dive shop is phenomenal: clean, well organized, and stocked with a huge range of equipment. Full equipment rental was included in the dive price during our stay, with a discount if you brought your own gear. That made budgeting so much simpler for newer divers. I wish more operators did it this way. Thanks to everyone at Bongo Bongo. We’d happily recommend it to friends and family, and hope it does really well.

The day trip to Apo Island was a highlight. The boat has plenty of space, and they kept snacks coming, including pancakes, bananas, and freshly popped popcorn, plus lunch on board. My Budget room had a fan and shared bathroom and shower. Everything was well kept, the staff were friendly, and the coffee was good too. Diving with Bongo Bongo Divers was a five-star experience. Dive Master Jhong was attentive and pointed out tiny nudibranchs, shrimps, and even smaller crabs. I had a great time. Highly recommended!

We did the three-tank trip to Apo Island and saw turtles, colorful nudis, and lots of coral. The boat was exceptionally organized, with generous room for people, seats, and gear. Staff set everything up, changed tanks quickly between dives, helped us get our fins on, and guided us back onto the boat. There were plenty of snacks during the surface interval and a tasty lunch, though we wished there had been a protein option. Planning had been tricky with fuel prices affecting dive shops, but BBD replied to our email in detail and found availability that fit our schedule. From arrival through arranging our ride back to Dumaguete, the service was excellent. The shop itself is colorful, open, sleek, and relaxed. Nobody rushed us or seemed anxious, which made us feel the dives would go smoothly. Paying electronically with Wise was a big plus. It was a smooth, fun experience and a great introduction to Dauin.

The rooms and dorms are cute, with options for AC or no AC, and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms and the rest of the place were clean. There’s also a laid-back hangout spot with hammocks. The staff are friendly and helpful, and make sure you’re having a good time. Diving was fun, and the gear was in good shape. The Dive Masters and instructors both looked after us underwater. Shoutout to Shelby 😌. I’d definitely recommend staying here and diving with this shop.

The team really made us feel welcome. Mariel, Sunshine, Anthony, and honestly everyone there deserve a shout-out. You guys rock! I dove several times and was consistently impressed by the Dauin coast and the Apo Island sites. The staff at Bongo Bongo are world-class hosts for local diving. I didn’t take a course, but the center seems top-notch for everything from Open Water through IDC training, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend its programs. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and cozy, with a vibe that fits the place. The restaurant food was excellent too. Between the diving, accommodation, food, and atmosphere, everything was done almost flawlessly. Bongo Bongo is easily one of my favorite dive resorts ever.
