Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort

I went to visit a good friend, so I haven’t stayed in a room. We had some light snacks and used the entrance fee as credit toward them. The fee is 500 pesos per person, so keep that in mind. From what my friend told me, the diving company has built a strong reputation in Dauin and is in high demand. She said their dives were booked through 2028. Imagine!

The dive center really made the stay for us. The crew helped us get set up on the boat and in the center better than we’ve experienced elsewhere, and the dive masters were professional and gave good guidance while keeping things relaxed. Special thanks to Elina and Damron. Elina taught our 11 years old son his Junior Open Water certification with so much patience. She gave him a calm, wonderful introduction to diving and the confidence to enjoy it. Sea Explorers' dive masters say “Dive with a smile” before each dive, and I’ll remember that. We stayed in a Family room made from two adjoining rooms, with two terrasses. It was a little small, but worked for us. The resort itself is intimate, peaceful, nicely decorated, and very well maintained. The gardeners deserve a mention for keeping the paths and gardens tidy and full of flowers, and all the staff were smiling and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and varied from day to day. The restaurant and cocktails were good too. We had a perfect stay at Pura Vida Beach and Dive Resort.

When our flight was cancelled, the staff quickly helped us sort out a few extra days, which we really appreciated. They were friendly and easy to approach throughout our stay. The resort feels relaxing, with large trees and lots of plants to make the grounds lush and interesting to walk around. We stayed 10 nights. Our room was clean, and housekeeping could come daily if we wanted. There was occasionally an unpleasant smell from the bathroom drain. The food was delicious and the menu had plenty of choices. Other resorts, little shops, and restaurants are nearby too if you want something different.

We chose to eat by the sea, and that was lovely. The atmosphere is relaxing, the food has a nice balance of flavors, and the portions are worth the price. The restrooms are kept clean and the staff are friendly. A day tour here is worth it.
