Salaya Beach Houses

We only came to Salaya Beach Houses for a family day trip, but it was a wonderful visit and went beyond what we expected. The big pool and the resort’s peaceful feel were especially nice. Everything was well kept, and it was an easy place to unwind. The staff were attentive and friendly, and we enjoyed the food. We’d love to return, maybe to stay overnight next time.

The Saturday Sushi Buffet was amazing.

The food was a highlight, every meal was a treat. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful, and we felt safe on the fantastic dives. The 2-room suite was clean, beautiful, and comfortable, and the spa felt incredibly luxurious. Highly recommend it. We couldn’t make it to Apo Island and never got an explanation, but the waterfall and hot spring hikes were a terrific alternative.

We returned to Salaya beach houses May 30- June 6’25, and this time there was no torrential rain. We took a trip to Apo island for the turtles, another to the Majumod sandbar, and did some local dives where we saw incredible muck creatures. The owners joined us for a couple of dives and helped point out interesting critters. Staff were kind, attentive, and lovely, and the resort is beautiful. We were thrilled to be back and felt lucky to have made it. Maybe we’ll come again. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the sea or relax in peaceful, beautiful surroundings. Our first stay was Sept 13-20/24. Typhoon weather disrupted our plans, though of course that wasn’t the resort’s fault. We’d spent the previous 10 days on a Liveaboard dive boat, booked two years in advance despite it being rainy season, so we settled in to enjoy the resort instead. There were few quests because of the weather. The staff and owners were accommodating, and we had great spa treatments. The made-to-order food was amazing and could be delivered to the room. The infinity pool is gorgeous, and we still swam most days despite the weather. The coast guard only opened the boats on Wed that week, so we didn’t dive from the resort and chose to keep relaxing. We’re already planning another trip, with several islands and dives from Salayas as a goal. Apo island is nearby, and we’d like to return because the corals and fish were multicoloured and plentiful when we dived there from the Liveaboard. There’s also a day trip to Oslob to see whalesharks. Thanks to Jody and Mike for sharing stories.
