GV Hotel Davao

At $15 a night, this wasn't bad. My simple dbl room had hot water and decent A/C. Cleanliness was o.k., and it was quiet in room 118, which let me sleep. There are lots of eateries right nearby, along with Davao "highlights" like the National Museum and Cathedral. Roxas Night Market is an easy 15'-walk away. They took a 200P deposit at check-in and refunded it quickly when I checked out.

Our family spent one night here. The room was spacious, a bit on the big side, and quiet. It had its own television, airconditioner, and toilet and bath, plus towels, tissue, soap, and purified drinking water. The bed fit two, and although we had a baby, it was still good enough for the three of us. The place was clean and has basement parking. The elevator wasn't working, but I appreciated that there was a ramp. They also have their own restaurant, though we didn't try it. 🖤

It's a budget option that suits backpackers, and malls are easy to get to from here. The room felt dark and gloomy. The TV was old and defective, and the water heater was defective too.

There’s an old mall nearby, something like Unitop or Novo, where you can pick up essentials cheaply. The hotel doesn’t have a kitchen, so there’s no breakfast or other meals; they just suggest ordering food from outside. At check-in, each adult gets a bottle of water. The building feels old and a bit gloomy, and the service seems poor, perhaps because they’re trying to cut costs. It’s mainly suited to backpackers who just need somewhere to sleep.
