The staff were friendly and really helpful. It’s a budget-friendly place that turned out better than we expected, with new, clean rooms that are nice and cool. There’s free water to refill, though it isn’t bottled. The bathroom sink is the one issue: the faucet seems to have been installed wrong, so water leaks onto the floor and could make someone slip.

The hotel is handy for everyday stays, right in the city center beside the local G mall. But cleaning and maintenance need attention: there was mold and mildew, and red ants crawled over our table and bed. I was bitten while sleeping. Outside, diesel fumes and dust hit you as soon as you leave. There are lots of jeepneys, diesel trucks, and cars, and the air can feel suffocating. People still seem unaware of diesel exhaust and how PM2.5 can affect lungs and general health. I hope the government or private sector does something, perhaps limiting cars and jeepneys like Singapore or phasing out diesel in favor of hybrids. In some countries, public places have air filters for PM2.5. In Thailand, you can see filters in every establishment.

Breathe Spa is my favorite, the massage is really good and relaxing, whether you come alone or with a partner. The food service is great too. It’s such a clean place downtown, with a top-notch atmosphere and service. Kids love Happy Plays, and it’s worth coming for a birthday celebration or to have friends over to play.

Every floor has a water dispenser, and they also provide a pitcher and two glasses. I stayed in Room 303, which even had a fridge. It’s so cozy you don’t feel like leaving, and worth every peso.
