La Anclar Hotel

After coming back to Davao for the first time in five years, I liked everything about my stay. The location is good, food and other things are all around, and the service was good. It's PWD friendly, and the Wi-Fi is strong, which I needed most. A free hot and cold water dispenser on every floor is especially handy when you're traveling on a budget. I'll definitely stay here again.

I've chosen La Anclar whenever I needed somewhere to stay since the pandemic began. I don't check in often, but its affordable price has made it my usual choice. My concern is with reception, not the hotel itself. On my latest stay, we checked in around 11 PM on November 16, hoping to sleep properly. At about 8 AM, drilling, hammering, and banging on the walls woke us up. We had barely slept. When I went to reception, the staff didn't apologize or show courtesy or take responsibility. They offered to move us, but with only a few hours left before checkout, that didn't help. Guests should be told ahead of time about construction or other disruptive work. A quick mention at check-in, a printed notice, or a sign at the counter would have been enough. Since the construction wasn't disclosed and we lost the rest and comfort we'd paid for, we should have received compensation, such as a partial refund or discount. I strongly suggest management train reception staff to handle concerns professionally and set up a proper way to tell guests about planned construction. Courtesy, transparency, and accountability matter.

Safe, clean, and inexpensive, with really good staff. A good hotel.

The rooms are very spacious, and the location is nice. Rates are affordable too.
