The WiFi worked well outside the capsule and was fair inside. I could still stream YouTube and use Facebook and Messenger while lying in bed. The staff were kind and accommodating, and I could ask them how to get around the city. Their social media staff were responsive too. After I booked through Agoda, I checked that my booking matched their records. When I arrived, they just asked for my ID and handed over the room key card and cabinet keys. I chose the capsule because it was the cheapest hotel option I saw on Agoda in Davao City, inside the City Center. Agoda’s prices were much lower, PHP 400+ compared with PHP 550 when paying directly. If you’re on a budget and want to stay in Davao, Hotel Midori capsules is a good choice. 88/100 overall!

There’s a large notice at the counter saying couples can share a room only if they’re married. If you’re there with your fiancée or girlfriend, they’ll turn you away.

The room Wi-Fi is free, and the staff are friendly. The hotel is clean and otherwise good, though the water pressure is usually weak. The construction noise is what ruined the stay. They start work at 7 every morning, weekends included, and it’s really loud. I was woken up at 7 on vacation and wasn’t offered any discount or apology. They do offer a senior discount, but not to foreigners. Could’ve been a four- or even five-star stay without all that. Definitely my last time here.

The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, which was the main letdown, but the rest of my stay was great. It’s easy to get a taxi from here, with restaurants and Gaisano Centre mall nearby. The employees were accommodating, and the Wi-Fi is free.

We were at the Midori Hotel from April 29 to May 02 2023. It was clean, and everything was conveniently close by. For travellers, that combination makes it a comfortable, practical place to stay.
