The rooms are big, comfortable, clean, and well maintained. There’s good food on site, and 7 11 is very close by. The gate is secure, locked at night, and there’s security.

The owners and staff are amazing people, and the location worked really well for us. We had a great stay, with comfortable rooms. I strongly recommend this place.

I really enjoyed the Spanish sardines at breakfast, a classic from the region. We also had dinner there a couple of nights, and the lemon shrimp pasta was so yummy. There are a couple of really good laundries nearby, plus a 7/11 store, a Jollibee, and an ATM. Plenty of covered tricycles pass by and can take you most places for 20 pesos. We were in Dipolog for a five-night work trip and stayed at Gwandalan House. It’s a family-run hotel, and its small size and lovely garden setting make up for being a bit out of the way from the city. The rooms are beautifully designed, and we couldn’t have been happier with them. Whenever we needed help, staff cheerfully took care of it. They feel like an extended family and made us feel part of that family atmosphere. The hotel aims for a calm, relaxing stay, and it works. I’d happily recommend Gwandalan House to anyone staying in Dipolog. They just understand hospitality.

We loved the hotel’s vibe. It’s not a conventional hotel, more like a ‘balay'ng daku’, a traditional ancestral home for Filipinos with a modern twist. We preferred being outside the CBD because it was a bit quieter. Tricycles are easy to find, and a ride to the city proper or boulevard costs around 15-20php. From booking to checkout, our experience was fantastic, and we’d definitely stay again on a return to Dipolog. When our domestic flight was cancelled, Gwandalan picked us up from the airport and accommodated us for another night. Highly recommended if you want decent, comfortable accommodation.
