Henia Hotel

The staff made Henia Hotel feel so warm and welcoming every day, like coming home. On our very early checkout morning, they even prepared coffee and hard-boiled eggs for us to take on the road. The bus came earlier than expected, so we had to leave without them. I’m very sorry we couldn’t take them, and truly grateful for the effort and thoughtfulness. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and Merry Christmas to the whole team. We stayed four days, using the hotel as a base for Dumaguete and beyond. It’s close to the port and right across from the public market, with plenty of food, street eats, and things to see nearby. We arranged our own outings to Siquijor Island and Apo Island, plus city stops at Silliman University, the sulfur vents, and Red Rock Hot Spring. On checkout day we caught a Ceres bus from the nearby terminal to Cebu and all the way to Oslob for whale shark watching. We highly recommend the hotel and will definitely return.

Our stay was affordable and the place was clean, with everything we needed close by. The hotel is convenient for getting to most Dumaguete tourist spots, and the staff were courteous, kind, and helpful. Having Netflix and an elevator was a nice bonus for a budget hotel. One suggestion: don’t have guests make their own waffles. During our three-day stay, nobody managed to make one successfully. Also, almost all the breakfast dishes listed on the menu were unavailable. Still, I’d recommend staying here.

The room was really clean and smelled nice, and the staff were easy to communicate with. I especially liked the location, close to the public market, watsons, and other fast food places.

The rooms are spacious, and there’s parking, though space is limited. Breakfast has the usual selection, but I particularly enjoyed the make-your-own pancake station. It just seemed fun. The hotel is well located near the public market, with shops and other places within walking distance.
