Ambiance Place El Nido

Breakfast on the patio by the beach was tasty, and the WiFi stayed strong and stable during our visit. We found the room very clean on arrival, with nice decorations. The resort was still adding new patio furniture and TVs while we were there. When we suddenly had medical issues, the staff at Ambiance place went out of their way to help us. They were courteous throughout. The beach is about a 30-second walk from reception, and the main street is roughly 1 minute 45 seconds away. I’d recommend Ambiance Place to foreign visitors looking for an inexpensive resort with good service, comfort, WiFi, views, and easy access to both the beach and main street. For afternoon and evening meals, I’d try the beach or main street restaurants.

We ended up at Ambiance Place by accident during my birthday week, April 19 - 22. Talindak mistakenly cancelled our reservation, and Rona referred us here. After a five-hour trip, we were grateful that Gai-Gai, one of the cheerful staff, welcomed us and had the room ready in about ten minutes. The room was clean and cool, with a complete bathroom, hot water, a comfortable bed, and AC that kept us comfortable overnight. For breakfast we chose from four options, including cornedbeefsilog and their version of an American breakfast. Cris helped us book a tour the next day, and we got 200 pesos off as guests. Pickup from Ambiance Place and the boat transfer all went smoothly. Gai-Gai, Joy, Cris, and Kuya Sonny were attentive to what guests needed, from drinking water and hot tea water to an extra blanket. Cris also arranged a motorcycle trip to Nacpan, which was a great suggestion. Nacpan felt like paradise, and when we got back, the room had been cleaned. The property is right by the beach, with lovely sunsets, clean rooms, and welcoming people. It seems suited to backpackers and families, and I’d recommend it to budget travelers. And no, this review wasn’t paid for by Ambiance Place. :) LOL!

The hotel is right on the beach, which was great for popping out of our room for a quick swim. It’s an ordinary room without anything special, so the price felt a bit high for what you get. Still, the basics were good: fast WiFi, hot shower, friendly desk staff, and tours could be arranged at the hotel.

The sunsets were stunning, and the staff were genuinely kind. I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels and hotels while traveling around SE Asia, and this is my favorite by far. Whatever you want to do in El Nido, reception will sort it out and go the extra mile if needed. Thanks, I’ll be back someday. Johan Näsström
