Just Inn

I canceled my reservation and left this filthy, stinking place. The pillows were dirty inside, even though I'd already told the receptionist I wanted clean fillings. I checked the mattress too, and it was in terrible shape, stained all over with mold and bodily fluids. When I raised this serious issue with the owner, he brushed it off as if that filth were normal. Maybe it is for him, if he's used to sleeping in sewers. If you don't want to catch cholera, stay far away. Check the pillows inside their covers, and lift every sheet to inspect the mattress!

Don't judge it by the entrance, the upstairs area is really nice, and breakfast was good. The rooms suited us for a night before heading to our next destination, and it's very close to the busstation. There was no ac, but that was fine for us.

The breakfast and cozy rooftop terrace were the only good parts. The rooms were very basic, with old furniture, cheap materials, and dirty ceilings and walls. The bathroom smelled, the water heater stopped working after a day, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly, so I had to flush it manually. The terrace outside my room looked onto dirty buildings, the neighbors' garbage, and storage. I asked the owners for a quiet room because I'm a light sleeper. They said it would be quiet, but even with earplugs I woke up ten times a night because the nearby road stays busy at night. The location is awful, right beside a main road that's busy, dusty, and dirty. It was the worst accommodation I stayed in across the whole Philippines. The surroundings were noisy and dirty. Never again! The travel agency they work with is in El Nido. They pick you up in the morning, but when the trip ends they tell you to sort out your own tricycle back. They also beg for tips at the end of the trip. I moved to Dormitel near Corong Beach, which cost a similar amount and had a clean, cozy atmosphere, even though its rooms were basic. There are alternatives to this ugly place called Just Inn.

The family running the place are sweet, and it's in a good spot, about a 13 min walk to town (beach). It's basic, but that's about what you'd expect for the price. Breakfast and coffee were simple, but I've paid more elsewhere and gotten nothing, so I appreciated it. There's a nice view and a cool restaurant upstairs. The shower hose broke while we were there. We rented a motorbike from them for 400 pesos/day, cheaper than the 500 other shops in town were asking.
